Nestled in the bustling Sunset Beach neighborhood of Vancouver's West End, SUNSET STAND has quickly become a culinary destination that captures both the local vibe and a spirit of adventure. Born from the "Imagine West End Waterfront" initiative, this beachside burger joint needed a brand that would stand out in a highly competitive area. 
This case study highlights how a thoughtful rebranding effort transformed SUNSET STAND into a beloved spot for both locals and tourists, reflecting the neighborhood's dynamic charm.
The Challenge
The challenge was to distinguish SUNSET STAND from other beachside eateries while encapsulating the vibrancy and character of Sunset Beach. Moving beyond the cliché of a simple sunset theme, the goal was to create a brand identity that celebrated the energetic, diverse atmosphere of the area and resonated with the local community.
The Strategy
To achieve this, we adopted a youthful, energetic color palette that echoed the lively beachfront setting. Playful, beach-themed doodles were introduced to bring an element of joy and nostalgia, evoking a sense of carefree summer days. The visual strategy was intentionally bold, using bright colors and casual design elements to speak directly to the beach-loving crowd that frequents the area, while also appealing to a broader audience with its playful, approachable aesthetic.

The rebrand successfully transformed SUNSET STAND into a vibrant and inviting destination. The bold colors and playful doodles not only brought the brand to life but also made it instantly recognizable as a reflection of the beach culture at Sunset Beach.
